Qualifications and Responsibilities of Financial Management
- Maintaining accurate financial records at all times;
- Completing tax-related activities in compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies, and preparing necessary files;
- Supervising finance staff and preparing bank reconciliation statements;
- Collaborating with the Deputy of Administration & Finance to design and implement internal financial controls for proper fiscal management;
- Reviewing and approving performance reports of faculty and staff;
- Comparing monthly financial reports with budget allocations to ensure compliance;
- Verifying attendance sheets and payroll tables to confirm accuracy of hours, deductions, and payments;
- Ensuring correct entries in payroll columns;
- Overseeing updates to the university’s fixed assets register;
- Preparing and submitting weekly/monthly reports to the Administration & Financial Vice-President;
- Monitoring budget execution and preparing annual financial reconciliation reports;
- Reviewing expenditures based on received bills;
