Research Vice-Chancellery

Dr. Qasem Ali Sadaqat, born in Lumaan village, Jaghori district, Ghazni Province, completed his primary education in his hometown and spent three years studying at a religious school in the same area. He completed his secondary and higher education in Iran. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute in Qom and completed his religious studies equivalent to a Ph.D. at the Qom Seminary. He has been a faculty member at Khatam Al-Nabieen (PBUH) University for about 15 years and completed his Ph.D. in Public Law at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, Iran, from 2012 to 2017. His dissertation, titled “Constitutional Oversight in Iraq and Afghanistan and Its Functions with Emphasis on Guaranteeing Fundamental Rights and Freedoms”, was defended and published. He currently teaches at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. His academic work primarily focuses on public law, especially constitutional law and international public law. He has conducted significant research in both domestic labor law and international labor law.

Research and investigation require material and human resources. Therefore, the Research Vice-Chancellery of is one of the main internal structures of Khatam al-Nabieen University (PBUH), responsible for leading, managing, and executing the university’s research activities. Specific internal structures have been defined for it to achieve the goals of the Research Vice-Chancellery. Accordingly, the management of the Humanities and Natural Sciences Research Center, Publications Management, Website Management, and Library Management are included in its organizational structure. Qualified and specific personnel within these structures advance research activities. Moreover, to achieve its objectives and ensure specific functions, the Vice-Chancellery has numerous regulations and procedures within which scientific, research, and administrative tasks must be carried out.

History of the Directorate

Since the establishment of Khatam al-Nabieen (PBUH) University, the Research Directorate was established in 2008 in the university’s charter to manage and lead research activities. Later, this entity evolved into the Vice-Chancellery of Research according to the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education. This entity has always been actively involved in the university’s structure. The peak of its activities was between 2017–2021 and from 2023 to the present.

Objectives

In line with the university’s overarching goals, the research objectives are summarized as follows:

  1. Promoting, enhancing, and improving research culture and activities;
  2. Contributing to the scientific-research development of the country through collaboration with domestic and international research institutions;
  3. Enhancing the academic level of students and faculty in various scientific fields through research strategies, programs, and activities.

Infrastructure and Superstructure Facilities

The Research Vice-Chancellery has a well-equipped library with internet facilities, several computer terminals, a fully equipped study hall, a physical and online library, three group study rooms, and specialized books for each field. Additionally, it has a laboratory equipped with various devices for scientific studies on animals and plant extraction. It also has specialized equipment for bioinformatics studies. Furthermore, it has a computer lab specifically for computer science students. In the publications section, there are five journal websites where the entire article process is managed online. There is also a dedicated office for managing journals. Seven journals in law, politics, economics, technical sciences, natural sciences, international sciences, and social sciences are published, providing a platform for knowledge production and promoting research capacity at the national level.

Number of Scientific Seminars Held

Approximately 50 scientific seminars have been organized by the Research Vice-Chancellery over the years, addressing various scientific and specialized issues, contributing to the promotion and development of science and knowledge.

Number of Workshops Held

A total of 81 workshops on various topics have been conducted by different internal departments in collaboration with other institutions. Some workshops were held at the Vice-Chancellery level, while many were organized by faculties and departments.

Number of Permanent and Contractual Employees

The Research Vice-Chancellery has 9 permanent and contractual employees working full-time in various research and ancillary activities. Among them, two administrative staff are faculty members responsible for the administrative and scientific aspects of research activities.

Number of Articles Published in National Journals

A total of 479 international articles have been published by Khatam al-Nabieen (PBUH) University in three fields: technical sciences, humanities, and medical sciences.

Since its establishment, Khatam al-Nabieen (PBUH) University has published 77 international articles in various international journals.

Number of Textbooks and Non-Textbooks Published (with Details)

A total of 45 books have been published by the faculty members of Khatam al-Nabieen (PBUH) University, of which 19 were published by the university.

Number of Specialized Journals Published (by Field)

Specialized journals are published in three fields: technical sciences, medical sciences, and humanities. Over the years, various quarterly journals such as “Andisheh Khatam”, “Scientific-Research Humanities Journal Specialized in Peace”, “Scientific-Research Humanities Journal Specialized in Islamic Studies”, “Scientific-Research Humanities Journal Specialized in Jurisprudence and Law”, “Scientific-Research Humanities Journal Specialized in Political Sciences”, “Scientific-Research Humanities Journal Specialized in Economics and Management”, and “Scientific-Research Technical Sciences Journal” have been published, though their publication has been halted.
Currently, the following quarterly journals are in publication: “Scientific-Research Humanities Journal”, “Scientific-Research Political and International Studies Journal”, “Scientific-Research Legal Knowledge Journal”, “Scientific-Research Natural Sciences Journal”, “Scientific-Research Technical Sciences Journal”, and “Scientific-Research Economic Findings Journal”.
