About Directorate of Faculty Affairs
The Directorate of Faculty Affairs is one of the most important subdivisions of the Academic Vice-President, operating directly under its supervision and guidance. This office is responsible for addressing all inquiries and issues related to faculty members, including both academic and contractual staff. It serves as a bridge between faculty members and the Academic Vice-President, and in some cases, with the Administrative and Financial Vice-President, the University President, faculties, and occasionally the relevant departments. In essence, as the title suggests, this directorate is closely involved with the financial (material and moral), administrative, and academic affairs of faculty members, particularly the academic staff of the university. It primarily has an administrative-executive nature and, in some cases, oversees the performance and implementation of faculty duties.
Qualifications and Responsibilities of the Directorate of Faculty Affairs
- Formation and completion of faculty employment files;
- Taking action and following up on approvals related to the appointment, confirmation, promotion, suspension, and dismissal of academic staff members;
- Registration, completion, and modification of comprehensive faculty information in the university’s SAB system;
- Drafting and preparing proposals, regulations, and other necessary legislative documents under the guidance of the Academic Vice-President;
- Serving as the secretariat for the Confirmation and Promotion Committee, the University Curriculum Committee, and the University Teaching Council;
- Preparing and completing statistical and analytical tables requested by the Academic Vice-President and the Ministry of Higher Education;
- Conducting evaluations of faculty teaching quality, extracting evaluation results, and communicating them to relevant authorities and faculty members, while striving to improve the effectiveness of the evaluation mechanism each semester;
- Preparing and submitting monthly or annual financial reports for faculty members;
- Providing quarterly and annual reports on performance, appointments, employment, and the quantitative capacity building of faculty members;
- Carrying out tasks assigned by the Academic Vice-President.
