Board of Trustees

According to Article 15 of the university’s statute, the Board of Trustees is the highest authority for leadership, supervision, and decision-making at the university.

Composition of the Board of Trustees

  1. Founders of the university;
  2. One representative of the founder;
  3. Two faculty members elected by direct and secret vote of the Academic Council;
  4. Two prominent academic figures in accordance with the Civil Higher Education Law, selected by the Academic Council with the agreement of the university’s founders;

Duties and Authorities of the Board of Trustees

  1. Supervising the university’s activities to achieve its overarching policies and goals;
  2. Determining the university’s overarching policies;
  3. Appointing or dismissing the university’s Chancellor based on the proposal of two-thirds of the Academic Council members;
  4. Accepting the resignation of the university’s President;
  5. Reviewing the annual report of the university’s President and making decisions to address issues and improve operations;
  6. Reviewing the report of the Audit and Oversight Committee and providing feedback;
  7. Amending and approving the university’s statute;
  8. Approving the awarding of honorary diplomas and academic medals.
