About the Directorate:

In today’s era, almost all work is knowledge-based, and countries have benefited from development in various fields that have paid attention to this importance. One of the main indicators of knowledge-based and development-oriented activities in various fields is (research), which should not be neglected.

Therefore, success in knowledge-based activities and research development in any society requires the expansion of the research approach (evaluative research) in that society. In the research-oriented approach, the findings of previous and especially new researches are effectively used to improve the current situation. The first step for creating a platform for science production and moving towards development in its various dimensions is to transform and institutionalize the culture of research in educational environments. Educational programs and plans in universities and educational centers should be developed and implemented based on the parallel movement of education and research. An educational system alien to research activity and perspective not only does not direct development-oriented movements, but it is considered a crisis-causing challenge for the country’s development.

The higher education system in Afghanistan, both public and private, is not organized for research but for education. In these centers, everything is planned based on education and revolves around education. Almost all the scientific staff of Afghan universities are educational and often meet the educational needs of the relevant department and often do not have the motivation and opportunity for research. In such a situation, it is necessary for the trustees of the universities to encourage and facilitate the matters related to research and appropriate policy-making, to strengthen the motivation to deal with research matters in parallel with education.

Khatam Al-Nabieen University (pbuh) has been paying attention to this issue since its establishment and has defined its main mission as “the training of committed and expert human resources at the global level and the production of science and knowledge in order to contribute to the sustainable development of the country”.
