Considering the value and importance of working with laboratory animals in scientific research and needs assessment, a three-day workshop on working with laboratory animals was hosted by the management of the Research Center and Department of Biology and Microbiology of Khatam Al-Nabieen University (pbuh) with the participation of professors and students of Khatam Al-Nabieen University (pbuh). , Aburihan University of Paktia Province, Ghalib University and Katab University were held in two sections of theory and practice.

🔸 The workshop started with the recitation of the verses of Kalam Allah Majid. Then, Dr. Sayed Hossein Mousavi, advisor to the Research Department of Khatam Al-Nabieen University (pbuh), discussed the importance and place of research in the development of scientific societies. After that, Professor Davod Hosseini, the head of the Department of Biology and Microbiology, Faculty of Medical Technology, while welcoming the participants, taught the importance, necessity and history of the use of laboratory animals, the ethical and humane principles of working with animals, and the biological characteristics of laboratory rats. .

In the practical part of this workshop, Murtaza Haidary, director of the Research Center of Khatam Al-Nabieen University (pbuh), explained the principles of restraint and animal transfer methods, sex determination methods, mating methods, methods and types of injections and blood sampling, euthanize (easy death), surgery and sampling The participants were taught the different tissues of the animal body. During this workshop, participants were well prepared by using theoretical teaching and practical experiences to work professionally with laboratory animals in the future. Also, this workshop was a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences between students and professors, which increased cooperation and interaction in the field of working with laboratory animals.
