International Midwifery Day was celebrated by Faculty of Midwifery and Laboratory Technology (MF). The celebration ceremony was held with presence of Deputy Deans, Some Faculty Deans, some instructors, Students Council Members and the host faculty students. Nafis Saaidi, Faculty Dean in preliminary statements welcomed the gests and introduced May 5 and International Midwifery Confederation for the audience briefly. In addition, she praised the valuable efforts of Midwives and thanked the previous figures served in the mentioned faculty in previous years.
Dr. Wahid Binish, former dean of Khatam Al-Nabieen University likened the celebration of Midwifery Day to celebration of humanity and expressed midwife insures the continuation of mother’s life through persistent care. He stated that midwife is the first person to gift smile to the newborn baby.
Dr. Abdul Karim Eskandari, Academic Deputy Dean said, “Celebrating Midwifery Day means to value prominent position of midwife in society” and stressed that Medical Science is as significant as other academic fields in Islamic Believes. He called the midwifery a great responsibility which has the importance like reviving all humans by securing one’s life and has the penalty of endangering all humans’ life by endangering one’s life neglect and poor health cares.
